About DryRoot:

DryRoot is an established European HNMLS on Leviathan. Started October 1st, 2008 by a small group of experienced players that came together to create a high-end Linkshell to satisfy people who could mainly play in the european time zone and their desire for end-game on Leviathan.

DryRoot has recently changed some of the events in which it participates; those events are now mainly: Limbus, Einherjar, Tiamat, Nidhogg (D4+), KV, Sea, Sky(Kirin), ZNM, VNM, Abyssea, Walk of Echos, KS99

We have recently removed Dynamis from our scheduled event set; however, it may still be run in an event slot without notice as if it were just a regular event for the purpose of completing Relics.

We are active mainly during European playing hours (1PM-1AM GMT), but we also have a few American players amongst us.

Please be aware of the time commitments and self-disciplinne required for such an end-game Linkshell. We don't want your membership here to cause a detriment to your real life schedule. RL>FFXI always. Reconsider your application if you don't realistically have the time to participate in the majority of our events.

What we're looking for:

We consider DryRoot to be a successful Linkshell, in the fact that it has a very high success rate for events. With this in mind, it's obvious that we're going to be looking for a certain type of player. Versatile and highly skilled players are a must. Players who use their own initiative without having to be hand held through every event and HNM encounter.

Successful applicants will have:

• A versatile selection of jobs (see the next section).
• A healthy amount of play time and event attendance.
• Several sets of gear for each job, and the knowledge to use them efficiently.
• Clear understanding of end-game strategies and navigational skills.
• An addictive drive to camp, claim, win, and be the best you can be.
• Preferably, previous experience with the events and HNM that we encounter.
  • Though this can be overlooked for those that demonstrate potential and a willingness to research and learn.
• Access to Sea, Sky all areas of WoTG and be up to date with WoTG missions and quests in preparation for new end-game content.

Jobs we're recruiting:

Before you read the rest of this page, ensure that your jobs are needed here so you don't waste your time.

We never rely on any member to fill one specific role. Versatility is a must. We separate jobs into four different categories. You must have one job geared and merited in at least two of these categories to be eligible to apply. While we may consider applications outside of these requirements - this is a rare occourance and you should speak with a DryRoot officer before applying.

The four categories we separate jobs into are: "Tanking" "Damage" "Support" "Auxiliary"

• Tanking Jobs
  • Recruiting PLD: Paladin's are required to have previous experience. The following gear sets are essential for your application to be considered: MDT, Enmity, Haste, Fire Resist. An advantage to your application would also be a PDT set.
  • Not recruiting RDM/NIN: Red Mage tanks are required to have previous experience and provide evidence to support their claims. The following gear sets are essential for your application to be considered: MDT, PDT, Enmity, Haste, Fire Resist.
  • Not recruiting NIN/DRK: Ninja tanks are required to have previous experience and provide evidence to support their claims. The following gear sets are essential for your application to be considered: MDT, PDT, Enmity, Haste and Fire Resist.
• Damage Jobs
  • Not Recruiting DRK
    
    • Desperate Blows & Last Resort merits are an advantage.
    • Owning a Ridill / M. Kris or Kraken Club is required.
    • A Max HP set is required for consideration.
      
  • Not Recruiting DRG
    • Requires capped Angon merits.
      
  • Recruiting WAR
    
  • Recruiting SAM
    • Blade Bash and Overwhelm merits are an advantage
  • Recruiting RNG
    • Gear setups for /NIN, /SAM and /WAR required, including 2 Axe setup & Staff setup
      
  • Recruiting BLM
    • Requires capped "Thunder potency" and "Ice Potency"
    • Requires capped "Burst II" merits.
    • "Tornado II" & "Freeze II" merits are an advantage.
    • All HQ Staves are required.
      
• Support Jobs
  • Recruiting WHM
    • Requires capped "Shellra V" merits.
    • Requires "Devotion" to minimum of Level 4.
    • Barspell and Regen potency merits are an advantage.
    • The following gear sets are required: MND, Cure potency, Enfeebling, Enhancing
    • HQ Staves are required.
      
  • Recruiting RDM
    • "Slow II", "Paralyze II" and "Dia III" merits are an advantage.
    • The following gear sets are required: MND, INT, Cure potency, Enfeebling, Elemental, Dark, Enhancing, Magic Accuracy
      
    • The following gear sets are an advantage but not required: PDT, MDT
    • All HQ Staves are required.
      
  • Recruiting BRD
    • capped "Troubador" merits are required.
    • HQ Light and Earth Staff required as minimum.
      
• Auxiliary Jobs
  • Recruiting COR
    • A Magic Attack / AGI set is required for this job to be considered as one of your two.
    • Capped merits required.
      
  • Recruiting THF
    • TH4 is a requirement for this job to be considered as one of your two.
    • Aurasteal merits are an advantage.
      
    • Capped feint required.

8:00pm: Other Events

Saturday
6:00pm: Abyssea
9:00pm: Einherjar (Odin or T2)

Sunday
6:30pm: Limbus
8:00pm: Nothing. Free Evening.

Item Distribution

Item Distribution

Treasure distribution in DryRoot is fair and unbiased with leaders having little influence in where items go. DryRoot uses a weighted point system which is nothing like a DKP system. Using the DryRoot point system means a monopoly on points and multiple items is not possible.

You use points to show your interest in an item, by increasing your "rank" in the item. However, the higher you increase your rank - the more points it costs. It's virtually impossible to maintain a high-rank in multiple items due to the sheer cost in points.

This ensures even and fair distribution across the Linkshell. Long-term members have absolutely no advantage over new members in obtaining items. Reward for input to the Linkshell is consistent; and there's rarely a backlog of rewards (meaning the work people have done for the past year has already been rewarded and will not continue to be rewarded at this point in time).

Etiquette & Conduct

We have a high standard to maintain in DryRoot, both publicly and internally. As such we expect all members to behave in a respectful manner to fellow Linkshell mates and those around them within the game.

Those found to have poor attitudes, or an intolerable arrogant streak will be swiftly removed from the Linkshell to help maintain a healthy and friendly atmosphere.

Offer advice to those less experienced than yourself and be prepared to take advice from those more experienced.

Mutual respect between members is of utmost importance. That being said, if you have a problem with any existing DryRoot members please do not apply.
