What is it with our Treasure Hunter? I think I need to hire some new TH4. It’s been an interesting two weeks with our decision to lessen the load on HNM for a while as we explore Abyssea three days a week. Too bad the drop rate on most items isn’t as good as we first envisioned.

On a side note, did you ever notice how much of our member base remains consistent for long periods of time? I love you guys 

It seems no one else is interested in KV anymore, so we’ve killed most of them and let a couple depop while we were busy doing other stuff. Congrats to Iwfym on the first hat.

Yet more KV, this time for Chiefbootron.

We’ve killed five KV the past week and allowed two to depop. Interested in buying an Ace’s Helm? Shoot me a /tell. Letting them go for 4m at the moment.

We’ve never really killed much Dynamis Lord because we’ve never really had a burning desire too, but we thought with 18 people at level 80, we’d see if we could clear opposite ends of the zone. So we attempted to clear the way to Dynamis Lord first, all Shadow Dragons upto Y&Y, then all the way to the other side of the zone (literally) to clear a path, via the northern route, to Animated Longsword. Then changed a couple of people to DRK and RDM/DRK and proceeded to annihilate both Animated Weapon and Dynamis Lord with about 20 minutes remaining.

It’s not really a great feat but it’s interesting and shows just how much the game has changed with only a five level increase. Will Final Fantasy XI even be the same game next update? Doubt it.

Animated Longsword for Castonell. Sorry about the piss-poor picture. Now to work on the Attestation. Urgh. During this Xarcabard, we also seen Alexos win a Sorcerer’s Petasos (which serves absolutely no purpose now), and Iwfym win a Duelist’s chapeau (which will be outdated next update). Several Valor Surcoats dropped. Iwfym won one, Chief bootron won another, and I think the third fell to the floor.

We did some Odin, again with 19 people. Interesting and fun fight, this also seems far too easy at Level 80. I hope Square Enix have some new end-game content planned other than Abyssea for the coming months; because Abyssea alone wont hold everyones attention for a long period and it will also completely make redundant every other enjoyable part of the game now.

One of our DoAnEffort members, Rasuka, won the Earthen Abjuration: Body. Congratulations to you – and Rizko won the Valkyrie’s fork for his gimp-ass Dragoon. Ginger cunt.

One of the cleanest Ultima’s I’ve seen. Black Mages actually survive Citadel Buster now. It’s interesting to say the least. New member Lilaan won one of the pairs of hands, and one of our DoAnEffort members took the other. Rizko won Ultima’s Heart, which is okay – seeing as he can’t get any from his missus.

Again, in Abyssea, I was expecting somewhat of a challenge. I know people have done this with 4 people with a little bit of a challenge – but then I’ve heard of other shells having difficulty. Went down in about 4-5 minutes and yep, you guessed it – no drop. That’s too bad  

Another free Sandworm (they are becoming quite common), the bank won the Tathlum. Love this Guivre fight. It’s fun to pull it raged just for the challenge.  

We spent one evening doing nothing but EXPing in Abyssea which seen me gimp my Paladin another 5 levels (now time to learn how to tank! ). Yurimi won the Glyph Axe for her Beastmaster. Again, where are the mage drops?

Tiamat dropped a pair of Herald’s Gaiters for Erialc. Congratulations! Still wish Square would fix the enmity cap issues on this!

During our time in Abyssea Tahrongi we also killed Minhocao twice, as a result we got two Vermeil Bhuj which Rizko and Mikeh won

In addition to Minhocao, we also killed Chukwa twice which yielded two Siege bows. Once for Mikeh and I forgot who won the other.

Had some fun the past week. We killed two Kukulkans, but was dissapointed at how easy they were. I swear people exagerate this shit to make themselves sound cooler for defeating it. It’s easy, can be 6 manned with relative ease. Try it. No decent drops, though we did get two ranger head pieces. One for Lingus and one for Castonell.

We got back into Einherjar again with this tier 2 run to finish another Odin set. 17 manned with extreme ease at level 80.

Yilbegan adventure with disasterous drops. Good fun as always though. We are yet to see this one drop a ring.

A free serket today while everyone was battling it out for Behemoth.

A fun week or so, a lot of Salvage runs too which seen some nice drops. Dug up some old screenshots of Exoscrubs wiping to Cerberus, gave me a chuckle so I thought I would share with you  .

We killed Megamaw Mikey, got a couple of nuggets and a scythe for Anarki.

Killed some VNMs, four to be exact, and we only seen one ring – Congrats to Rizko on Karka ring.

A fun couple of days, a lot of exploration. Some gil incoming. First we wiped to Nidhogg and got EBody/MBody. Then we wiped to Fafnir and sold a Ridill, then King Behemoth with 6 people. Also killed a Sandworm just to spite a bunch of assholes who were trying to let it depop, lolz.

Sold the W. Head to a gracious little taru; and I won the Pixie Earring for my WHM as everyone else had it

Brook won an E:Body which is now a sexy Armada Hauberk. Anarki won the M:Body to complete his set.

Lingus won the Bow, this turtle is actually how Aspidochelone should have been. Waterga IV, Stonega IV, and Mighty Strikes. Fantastic!

People will always insist on needing W.Legs, so we went after Kirin – and got shit out of it. Seems incredibly easy at Lv.80 though…

Don’t remember who won the belt. Yurimi also won a Thew bomblet during this Abyssea run.

Got a lot more done this time around in Abyssea; we seen one Mesmeric Cape drop out of 5 Alkonst pops which went to Rascal King; we also seen the new MDef head piece drop which Arasuta won. Tried Bakka, but no such luck on the drops.
